Introduction

On the landing page, you can view the total number of coupons that have been added to the coupon list so far. The available coupons count assists you in determining how many more unique coupon-based messages can be sent. The status of the coupon lists is displayed directly on the Coupons landing page. You can manage a coupon list either from the Coupons landing page or from within the Coupon list page. You can perform following actions to manage a Coupon list.

• Add coupons to an active Coupon list
• Generate coupon usage report for audit purpose
• Edit coupon list configurations
  • Update expiry date
  • Update alerts configurations
• Archive an active Coupon list
• Unarchive an archived or expired coupon list

Add coupons

MoEngage does not manage the creation of codes. As you create more coupons to continue your coupon-based campaigns, you will need to generate a CSV file of coupons from your coupon generator system and upload them to replenish the coupon list on MoEngage. Ensure that there is only one code per row.

1. Click on vertical ellipsis icon next to a Coupon List to open the submenu and select the Add coupon options. Alternatively, you can click on Add coupons button from inside the Coupon list page.
2. This action will open an overlay page for you to attach a coupon file. Upload the CSV file containing coupons from your system. Your CSV file must have a header with 'Coupon Code'. Additionally, you can also download a sample file to look at the format.
3. Use the 'Preview file' option to verify if the correct file has been selected for upload and to confirm that it has been successfully uploaded.
4. The system will start processing the coupon file. Please note that it may take some time to fully process and add the new coupons to the list.

Generate usage report

MoEngage does not verify the redemption of coupon codes. In the context of coupon-based campaigns, MoEngage's role is to randomly allocate unique codes and distribute them throughout the configured marketing channels. You can generate the audit report of coupon list used by different campaigns. Here is a sample usage report.

1. Click on vertical ellipsis icon next to a Coupon List to open the submenu and select the Generate usage report option. Alternatively, you can click on Generate usage report button from inside the Coupon list page.
2. Select the desired date range for which you wish to export the coupon distribution report.

3. Click on the 'Download' button. This will initiate to prepare the report as requested and will schedule an email to be sent to your email address.

   

4. The report will be sent to your email address within a few minutes.

   

Edit coupon list

You can update the name, expiry date or alert configurations in an active coupon list.

1. Click on vertical ellipsis icon next to a Coupon List to open the submenu and select the 'Edit coupon list' option. Alternatively, you can click on 'Edit coupon list' button from inside the Coupon list page.
2. Update the coupon list name as needed. While the name of the coupon list can be modified later, the personalization snippet will remain unchanged.
3. Update the coupon list expiry date to a new future date as needed. This date will be applicable to all codes included in this list. Once the list expires, they will be removed from the MoEngage system. As a result, any campaign that refer to this coupon list will not be able to retrieve any code.
4. Update the alert configurations associated with your coupon list for proactive management of coupon availability during campaigns. You can add upto 50 email addresses as email recipients for the alerts. You can send alerts for:
   
   • Success alert: Enable this setting to get alert when a coupon file has been successfully processed.
   • Failure alert: Enable this setting to get alert if the coupon file has failed to process.
   • Coupon shortage alert: This alert will notify you if a coupon list falls below the set threshold, serving as a reminder to add more coupons.
   • Expiry alert: Enable this alert to get daily reminders leading up to the expiration date of your coupon list, starting from the number of days you set in advance.
5. Click on 'Save'. This action will update the new configurations to the coupon list.

Archive coupon list

Once the list is archived, all the available coupons will be removed from the MoEngage system. As a result, any campaign that refer to this coupon list will not be able to retrieve any code.

1. Click on vertical ellipsis icon next to a Coupon List to open the submenu and select the 'Archive coupon list' option. Alternatively, you can click on 'Archive coupon list' button from inside the Coupon list page.
2. Click 'Archive' to confirm the action on the confirmation pop-up.
3. The list status will be updated to 'Archived' immediately.

Unarchive coupon list

When a list is activated back from its archived or expired status, only the list is activated and the coupons are not restored. Therefore, you might need to add more coupons to the list before using it for campaigns.

1. For an archived Coupon List, click on vertical ellipsis icon to open the submenu and select the 'Unarchive coupon list' option. For an expired list, select 'Edit coupon list'.
2. If the expiry date is a past date, update the new desired expiry date for the coupon list. Once the list expires, they will be removed from the MoEngage system. As a result, any campaign that refer to this coupon list will not be able to retrieve any code. 
3. Click on 'Save' button. The list status will be updated to 'Active' immediately.
