Adding Countdown Timer to Emails

Introduction

Marketers may need to communicate important time-bound offers like one-time discounts to increase website/app traffic or simply create a fear of missing out (FOMO) through emails.

MoEngage can integrate email and HTML code from 3rd party sources found on many websites. In the following use case, we utilize CountDownMail (https://countdownmail.com/).

To create a time-bound email.

  1. Login to the provider for HTML code.
  2. Configure timer.
  3. Embed HTML code.

Login to CountDownMail. If you don't have an account, create a free account using sign-up.

Information

Enabling custom HTML code for the timer requires Javascript, and emails currently don’t support Javascript. Hence, use 3rd party websites that provide gifs with the needed start and end-time thereby keeping the timer updated even when the email is revisited.
