Smart Trigger Push is sent when a user does (or does not do) a defined action in a defined time (for ex. "Added a product to cart" but "Not Purchased" in 2 hours). It is possible that some of these push notifications are triggered at odd hours (for ex. if user added a product at 10 pm, push message will be sent at midnight). DND feature allows you to configure idle hours during which your customers should not receive smart trigger push notifications.
You can setup Do Not Disturb (DND) time interval in the following steps:
Step 1: Head over to Push Settings or browse on MoEngage Dashboard -> Settings (sidebar) -> Push Settings
Go to FC & DND
Step 2: Here, switch ON the DND toggle button and enter the time-interval for which you wish to not send the triggered push notifications - Smart Trigger or Geo Fence or Real Time Push.
Note: For each user, DND will be set basis their respective time zone. If the user's time zone is not available with us, then your app time zone will take effect.
The app time zone is set by your admin at the time of account set up on MoEngage dashboard. You can check it at Settings >> App Settings >> General Settings.
In case you wish to deliver these push notifications after the DND period is over - switch ON the "Save & Send" toggle button. You can also mention the time interval in which multiple push notification (delayed due to DND) should be sent.
Click on "Save" and be assured that you will not send a push message to the user at odd hours.
Save and Send will save your messages during the DND hours and once DND hours are over, it will try sending them out to your user. In case you have set up multiple Triggered push campaigns, to ensure that user doesn't get bombarded with hoards of messages as soon as DND is over, you can use Stagger message setting. Stagger message ensure that your messages are not sent at once but are sent at a gap of time unit configured by you.
e.g. If during DND period, user became eligible for 2 notifications, with Save and Send as ON and Stagger message setting of 15 minutes, the user will receive the 2 messages in an interval of 15 minutes if the user is not breaching Frequency Capping. These notifications can be either of ST Push or ST SMS or ST Connectors. If you don't know already, read how Frequency Capping works.
Note: If you switch ON Stagger here, it will also get activated for other Smart Trigger campaigns such as ST SMS and ST Connectors.
